I made a house and took some pictures. Next time I mess around I'll upload some screenshots of other things. Like spelunking and such. Perhaps I'll get some better shots of how the lighting works, especially with the torches.

PICTURE 1: Inside of my house without any lights.

Fireplace! Kinda. I can't get the wood to burn consistently, it just goes out really quick. It appears the only thing that can actually "catch on fire" is an actual tree. I've got some pictures of that a little later on.

Picture with the chimney open. Light comes in through there so I had it closed up most of the time.

The other side of the house. It's just a door.

MORE TORCHES. I think you can see some shadows cast by the outcropping of the fireplace.

I set up the workbench and a chest I built. The workbench is needed to build pickaxes, axes, shovels, and swords, as well as just about everything else that's not a torch or a stick. Like bowls, soup, TNT if you can get enough gunpowder off the NPCs, etc.

More trees on fire. These are pretty much the only reason to use the flint and steel, beyond some temporary lighting if you're out of torches, or to smelt ore.

A bit more fire. I think there's maybe 2 more pictures of fire I'll put up.

Fire likes to spread. If you put it in the right spot, you can get a whole bunch of trees in one go.
