Hey guys, I split up the USA into what the USA would look like in Avatar via their empires.

I'd like to imagine Texas in the normal TLA universe, just that no one ever brings it up. Ever so often as they're traveling on the borders of one of the nations you hear some whooping in the distance, and gunshots. The gang pulls their cloaks tightly and slinks away quickly, back into the darkness.

Mountain and Great Plains should be earth

South should be Air Nation (religious and rural)

West coast should be Water nation (Water sports and hippies)

Air and Earth should be switched. That's about it. People may bitch over the border states.

Remember that the proportions of territory on the show were never very equally distributed. The Earth Kingdom is really huge compared to the others.

I think most of the country would be Earth Kingdom, with an industrial Fire Nation in the Northeast and Great Lakes Region, and Water Tribes in the Deep South and the West Coast. Air Nomads would have four tiny territories at the cardinal points, like Washington DC, San Francisco, North Dakota, and Austin.
