If you’ve been wondering when the comic will actually start going somewhere, and if some form of plot or action will emerge, then the answer is once again fairly soon. I rather like The Blues Brothers as you might guess from the Mr. O and Mr. C sprites, which were sort of from scratch but based closely on the NES and SNES sprites of Jake and Elwood Blues, those brothers of blues, The Blues Brothers (cue Can’t turn you loose). Also fun fact, I came up with the concept for these guys, like just about all the characters in the comic, from high school. Mr. O and Mr. C were what my high school band teachers were called. Furthermore, Smartpig was the nickname of a friend in band, so really the whole creative conception stage of the comic and its story arcs can be summarized in the phrase “This one time at band camp.”
Spring Break WOOOOO, and I haven’t done very much. So far I’ve bought a 2.0 GB SD card for my Wii at Best Buy for $30 (nice deal), SSX Blur (pretty fun game, but uber tricks are impossible), and all 3 seasons of Arrested Development for $17 each (funny stuff). So basically in my free time I’ve been playing Wii, not any game much in particular just DBZ Budokai etc., SSX Blur, WarioWare, and Excite Truck for a little bit every other day. I’m looking forward to getting back to my own PC and filling the SD card with so much J-pop that when I use the custom soundtrack option on Excite truck you’d think the game’s an import. In other Japan type news I finished the tokutsu Garo. Fyber made a topic about it long ago, and the show is quite awesome. The show featured some of the coolest, most intricate, and fiercest fight scenes I’ve ever watched. The TV show seriously puts some big budget million dollar films to shame.
