I was struggling between putting this in the Sprites and Artwork section or here, but it doesn't matter.

So, Gmod. A great thing. I'm planning on buying Gmod 10 soon, but I first have to find a way to put my paper monies on the internet so that I can get it properly. In the meantime, I've been amusing myself with Gmod 9. In this topic, I'll probably mostly be putting up images of contraptions i've made, and then telling you how to make them as well.

First off, how about a death trap. This one's not very sophisticated, but somewhat resembles the traps set in Ravenholm by Father Grigori. Imposing, eh what? The wall of dumpster lids is to block your view of my "wall of shame", which I sprayed with all sorts of paints and textures to see what they looked like before I used them on other things. That thing way up in the air above the brick building is a pressurized canister which flew up and stuck there in the corner of the map after I accidentally shot it.

This time, I built a cannon of sorts.

It's just a couple of deck poles welded to a blast door with some dynamite at the end. I used the physprop "ice on ice" for the deck poles so that stuff would slide off of them easily. The space between the deck poles makes metal barrels fit great. I shot it a few times at a wall of wooden fences. The picture I took happened like a millisecond before the fence broke. Something must've gone wrong with the welding on the cannon, because when I tried to move it, it began jumping around and even crushed me a few times. OH WELL.

Making that first cannon gave me plenty of ideas for other ones...!

This one's a little bit more versatile, and looks more like a conventional cannon. I welded a concrete tube to a blast door, which I hinged to the ground with a pair of ball joints. Dynamite at the end of the tube, and it's all ready. The only downside is that it can't really be moved around. It was still fun to fire stuff out of it though.

I filled it with watermelons and stood back a ways before firing. Even without targets, the result was still quite a sight. I might post a few more pictures of this cannon firing things later on, because it's my fvrt now.

I started playing around with Gmod 9, and then I decided what the hell, and bought 10.  It's just ten more bucks.  It seems worth it, since there's more you can do.  Perhaps I'll post screenshots if I do anything worth taking screenshots of!
