Recommendation for the glove: maybe he has to actually touch the person, such as on the back or side of the neck, before his index finger can actually paralyze'em. Maybe he has to touch other objects or at least be really close for his other abilities to work, as well.
I bring this up because no character should be completely super-human. For example, he shouldn't be able to just point out his hand and blow up walls or take out a whole group of bad guys, because not only does that leave little believable opposition for him to ever go against, but there are other more scientific explanations which would be much harder for one to give, such as how you power such a device and who/how/where was such a device built.
That said, I'm not opposed to strong devices or abilities, but it needs not only something to back up its origin, but also needs to stay within the realm of believability to an extent.
