I never did quite figure out the original Metal Gear, and couldn't make myself care enough to try.

MGS was fun, and still proof what someone with half a brain can do on limited hardware.  MAYBE PC GAME MAKERS TAKE A HINT?

MGS2 was arguably even better, but the ending was way too over the top for my taste.  It also fucked up most future opportunities.

Never played MGS3, but I wanna.

I tried the NES ones, and they were okay, for what technology they had at the time.

I'll agree with Fyber that the ending of MGS2 was insane.

Also, MGS3 is a good game. The eccentric villain dudes are the coolest.

Metal Gear 1 and 2 on teh MS-X are infinitly better than their NES counterparts (you don't even get to fight Metal Gear in the NES version)

MGS is probably my favorite to play just so I can watch the Ninja kick some major ass.

I just got and beat MGS2, the demo was one of the most awsome things ever but playing the game as Raiden just ain't as cool as playing as the Solid Snake

MGS3 is the best of all these games, mainly because of the camo index feature and lack of radar (making sneaking and stealth kills all the more important).  Also the bonus videos on the Persistence disk are the best, I'd love to play Metal Gear Sigint, or Metal Gear Raiden: Snake Eraser.  Also this one is the only game in the series that doesn't leave you confused.

MGS4 I want to play but I'm not gonna shell over a 600-700 dollars to play the game.

Shadow again proves he is homophobic... YOU DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING YA JACKASS!! And on a more somber note... MGS2 was fun, MGS was cool as well I thought the first was better than the second, I hated the third.  I just felt it was too changed from the others.

I liked MGS1, though I had no idea what the f*ck was going on, never played MGS2 though I have heard that Ocelot is being controled by Liquid Snake through his new arm.... somehow. I hear MGS3 is more realistic, thought no radar would be kinda annoying.

And to Bluejay: It's still pretty god damn creepy

Not if you don't know what a Metal gear or Big Boss is, which I didnt know when I first played it so I had some amount of confusion.

Shadow again proves he is homophobic... an idiot.

Fixed.

Also, I loved MGS1, didn't finish 2, played the crap out of 3. Killed all the kerotan frogs, caught the tsuchinkonko.
I also had no problem with the lack of radar because they give you motion detectors and junk. Keeps you more on your toes imo.

I never really had a problem with MGS3's lack of radar.  Usually you're in larger areas with more areas to hide from gaurds, plus there's that most awsome thing called Camo Index which pretty much allows you stand right next to a gaurd and them not see.

Of course saying this it's almost impossible to make your way through MGS2 with no radar since those damn just pop up from around corners.

Right... not good with numbers, but I really liked playing the Twin Snakes and the one for the NES. Especially the bit where Gray Fox lops Ocelot's arm off, and the first thing Ocelot does is say WHAAAT!?!

Really, you'd think he'd scream, or grunt, or something.

Also cuz there is no blood for the first five seconds, and then it just starts shooting out. Everyon loves delayed reactions : P

Legault: I'll see you again, Lloyd. With Linus... And Uhai... Even if it won't be in this world.
