« on: April 08, 2005, 01:30:11 pm »

Good day,

My name is Sherifat Andani the Daugther of late Chief
Yakubu Andani 11. I am a native of yendi in the Dagbon
district in the Northern part of Ghana in West Africa. I am
22 years old presently residing in Abidjan cote d`ivoire in
West Africa too.

On the March 27 2002 my father was brutarly murdered by a
rival clan in the Dagbon region where my father was the
King for so many years. This is a culmination of three days
of violence which left my father and his cabinet and the
entire family death in the hands of those infidels, who not
only killed my father in cold blood but tortured and
severed parts of his body. They also killed 28 members of
the family.

Nevertheless amidst these violence my father arranged for
my escape to neighbouring country Cote d`ivoire with
documents of a certain amount of £16.5,000.00 ( SIXTEEN
MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND BRITISH POUNDS) which he
deposited in one of the bank in London.

Hence, I solicit your assistance in the transfer of this
fund into your personal account  for investment
purposes, and for you to arrange for me to come over to your
country to continue my education and also to have a new
lease of life where I will be safe from these unscrupulous
elements. Please, I implore you in the name of God to assist
me in this regards as my life is no longer safe here.

Please indicate your position through the email so that I
will funish you with every necessary informations, for you
to make contact with them to know the procedures to
transfer the money into your foreign account.

I am seeking both your parental and financial support in
this transaction.Immediately you indicate your intrest in
assisting me, I will forward all necessary information for
your perusal and also the contact of the bank. I have
decided to compensate you, if you are ready to assist me
fully.

Finally, if you need any other information about please you
are free to ask.

Thanks for your mutual co-operation and God bless you,
Looking forward to hearing from you immediately.

Yours Sincerely,
Sherifat Andani.

I don't think I got that particular one, but I get those types of things every day.  I even replied one time just for fun, linking him to my "information" (which happened to be a link to Tubgirl, if you know what that is), and then he responded to say he couldn't find my info there, please send again.  xD

Yeah it's generally a real person wanting to trick dumbs into actually giving them the bank account info themselves.  Those email addresses don't stay active for long though, since once they're reported, the account is suspended.  But that's all they need really, a few hours for one or two gullible people to fall for it, then they have a buttload of money.

The emails usually trace back to African countries, and less often to places around Europe, for the record.

Fyber, while we all hate spam in our mailbox, don't you think linking to tubgirl is going a bit too far?
Lloyd: Fare well, Legault. My old friend.

Legault: I'll see you again, Lloyd. With Linus... And Uhai... Even if it won't be in this world.

It isn't spam, it's a scammer.  Or a crook, if you'd rather call'em.  They pray on the dumb folks who would actually believe what's in the email, who agree to the money transfer, but then they're out thousands and thousands of dollars since the original money transfer wasn't fake.  They pop up all the time from new email accounts because the old ones get shut down as soon as they're discovered.  And the reason they keep getting new addresses constantly to keep trying is because the scam keeps working on so many stupid folks.  So I don't feel bad about making them look at tubgirl at all!

one of the few advantages of dialup: The ability to close the browser before you see too much if you find out the 'cool link of the day' your friend sent you is actually a tubgirl mirror.
