Yah, I'm a cross-over from the RSC(RaceSimCentrall) Racer communtiy. Not as long as Silver_Ranger, but still a part. I'm attemting to learn how to model using Racer as the platform(Racer not only being free, but also more open than most sims...). I reccomend it to anyone who enjoys racing games
BUT, only if you also like messing with lots of setting in text file to make it work. Racer isn't really an "out of the box" kind of sim, but it is a good sim as long as you use good cars and tracks(the quality is dependant on the author). But, as you can see by Silver's screens, it can be a very nice LOOKING simulation, plus a VERY accurate simulation, as well. There are many kinks, and rhumors ultimate demise, but I say it's here to stay(for a while, anyway...).
By the way...another popular site for cars and tracks is
www.racer-xtreme.com/ .
