FYBER AND BORIS ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES TO START PROJECTS THEN LEAVE THEM ALONE FOREVER. AND I KNOW I HAVE TENSE PROBLEMS. DON’T BLAME ME, BLAME THE WRI… HENRY!
“Where to begin? The arrival I suppose.”
It was a beautiful summer day, despite the 100-degree weather. Inside Vitality Inc. however… it was an equally temperate day. It is inside a building after all. Jennifer, my secretary was going over the notes one last time before the guests began to arrive. “Do you really think they’ll all show up?” she queried, which I responded to with a nod. A small beep from my watch jolted my memory as I jog to the balcony to wait for the arrivals. I waited maybe 20-30 minutes, watching them come in pairs and sometimes groups of 3. Some left before I went out there, I assume they were there for the excellent spread laid out on a table for them. I almost let slip my smile as I enter dramatically, startling all but a few. “My name is Henry Porter, I bid you… welcome.” I spot the light bulbs go off in a few as they get the Dracula reference. “I’ll be the MC and Ref from here on out, what I say goes. Pretty simple.” I take careful note of the expressions on their faces, except Armature and Mdude’s, being that they have no faces. “Everything that you do will be recorded, except for certain bathrooms,” I continue “You will all have to sign certain papers claiming the responsibility for your well-being is yours, not ours and so on.” I distinctly remember scratching my head and asking Jennifer if that’s it, she replies with a nod. “All right then, I’ll see you in the next room after you’re all done!” I turned on my heel and exited. It was another 10 minutes before they came into the eliminations arena.
“Just 10 of you? How sad,” I pout. “But nothing can be done from here.” I wave my arm out to encompass the arena, “this is where the first 5 fights will take place, and from there we move up a floor where a surprise will await this round’s winners.” I stand there, analyzing. I revel in the moment, all the planning coming to this… it’s almost too much. I wanted to weep, all the work, all the collection, just… so worth it. I sigh with pleasure, “I didn’t say this earlier because I wanted to weed out the winners from the whiners but as some of you surmised, this contest may be deadly to you but the rewards gained will be 10-fold, if not 100-fold.” I take a breath “The monetary reward is good if that’s what you’re here for, access to our files is another for you more tech-minded folks, some of you just wanna have fun and make a request if you win.” I pause again, waiting, savoring. “The first part of this ‘contest’ is simple 1v1 fights, you’ll learn your opponents after you rest and get settled in your rooms, speaking of, head into that elevator and I’ll see you all in three hours!” again I turn on my heel and exit.
