ITT: We describe movies with Warhammer 40k terms.

An Imperial Guardsman passes through a vortex in the warp and is transported to a backwater feudal world corrupted by sorcerous powers, and has only his combat shotgun and chainsword to fight the evils of the Chaos Gods, as well as a Tzeentchian Sorcerer commanding a warband of Thousand Sons soldiers.

Lord of the Rings.

Eldar manipulate humans into committing genocide on the native orkoids before their local eco-system can evolve much past the Snotling stage.

Ends with the Deamon Prince who was behind the whole thing (trying to enslave the planet to the names of Morgoth/Tzneetch) getting killed before he could fully incarnate.

Main protagonists are some long-lived humans, regular humans, ratlings, squats eldar exodites led by a benevolent if unsanctioned psyker.

Also there was a rouge psyker called Sauromon who it turned out was in league with the Deamon Prince.

This is what I like about 40K. Anything fantasy/science fiction can be said to take place in the 40Kverse.

Picture especially related, it's about the discovery of warp travel and about realizing the need for a Geller field.

As for another idea.

A young guardsman and an eccentric techpriest get sent back in time thanks to a modified land speeder that can go 88 miles per hour!

There, the guardsman must make sure he can still be born and ward off the heretical influences of the local town chaos worshipper, Bif.

A former Arbites officer is wandering the ash wastes of Armageddon. He makes his way to a settlement in which Ork technology is extensively used, and power is generated by squig herds underground. He makes a deal to eliminate a hybrid tech-priest, but breaks the deal when he finds that the hybrid is not a servitor at all, but a mutated boy. He is exiled from the settlement, and is rescued by primitive cultists. They return to the settlement to grab the tech-priest, and are pursued by Ork buggies, and finally escape in a Deffkopta.

Book of Eli

An Exterminatus is botched.

Some survive in the hell-world created.

The survivors blame the Emperor for their suffering and destroy all of the books of the True Faith.

One man, Eli, finds the last surviving Book of Faith and travels across the ruined world battling cannibals, bandits and a khornate warlord.

Gets shot saving an attractive young lady (she was beautiful because the Emperor had blessed her) just before he reaches the former Arbiters Repentance Fortress of Alcatraz. the Khornate Wralord steals the book.

The Few surviving Arbiters and their children and grandchildren welcome him in because he carries the Faith of the Emperor.

He dictates the entire book by heart, because he is badass, and then dies with honor and dignity.

The Warlord of Khorne can not read the book because his lack of faith has made him blind to it's truth.

The young lady becomes the first Missionary of the God-Emperor.

A group of Sisters Dialogoues are doing research on a frozen tundra when they notice some tech-priests from a different research facility attempting to kill a fleeing animal. After being forced to kill them both, they investigate the base to find it abandoned, though they do find a large alien spacecraft.

They return to find the animal had transformed itself into a huge xeno monstrosity which they attempt to kill with fire.

It doesn't quite work and the creature attempts to rebuild its ship, taking the forms of several of the dialogous along the way. They destroy the research facility in an attempt to kill it and are unsure if they did or not. The last two dialgous remaining alive share a drink, knowing they did their best and that they were going to freeze to death but still unsure if the other was human or not.

To me it's more like Akira Kurosawa movies converted to Westerns. 40k's a big enough setting that it can hold all of these concepts, and when you get down to it they're pretty solid concepts for an adventure or something. Other settings tend to be more constrained because they're one tech level, but 40k can hold everything from primitive caveman times to super-sleek sci-fi as long as it's vaguely thematic.

Imperial guardsman, after aiding in the glorious conquest of a new world for The Emperor, crash lands on feudal world when a native xeno species that sneaked onboard overpowers the enginseers and cripples the ship.

After gaining the trust of the local tribe, he uses tactics from his Imperial Infantrymans Uplifting Primer to try and slay the xeno that has survived the crash and is stalking the local tribes.

Eventually he succumbs to tech heresy and allows a primitive heretek blacksmith who fails to make the proper observances to the omnissiah access to hull fragments from the Imperial transports wreckage, for debasement into the form of primitive cutting weapons.

This metal, despite its misstreatment at the hands of the unknowing, manages to retain enough of the Omnissiahs blessing to provide the necessary durability and keenness of edge to slay the xeno, all locally produced weapons having failed to do so due to the aforementioned tech heresy.

Having slain the xeno and seeking to keep his crimes against the servants of mars hidden, as well as shirk his duty to fight and die for Terra, the guardsman destroys the Standard Template Construct pattern astropathic emergency beacon, in a vain attempt to remain hidden among the native feral worlders.

The fool fails to realize that The Emperor sees all, and having been ajudged for his sins, has been found wanting. Movie is a cautionary tale against resisting tech heresy and abandoning your duty to Him on Terra.

In the 41st century, an interstellar war between the Imperium of Man and the Tau is being fought. A human and a tau pilot engage in a spacecraft battle which results in both crash-landing on a foreign planet.

After initial hostilities, the two eventually learn to cooperate in order to survive. The human haunted by dreams of spaceships landing on the planet, leaves in search of help. He returns only to discover the Tau is pregnant and dies during childbirth.

He raises the Tau child as his own until one day rogue traders show up, take the Tau, and leave him for dead. He later awakens when one of the disposal servitors tries to steal the small book the Tau had given him years before.

He returns to the planet, pursued by the Imperial Navy, who then help him to destroy the rogue traders.
